Jack Nicklaus
Private
open 2009
The Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Red Ledges has raised the bar on mountain golf. Nicklaus’s classic risk/reward style of course design challenges golfers of every level. The 7,653-yard course features a new adventure at every turn. “With the dramatic natural topography and views, the course we are designing at Red Ledges will be among the finest in the West,” says Jack Nicklaus. The course provides a truly world-class golf experience, with holes winding through open meadows, along dramatic red rock cliffs, and atop elevated ridges with stunning vistas of the surrounding Wasatch mountain range.
The course also marks Nicklaus Design’s 200th course to open in the United States. It has not taken long to capture public and media accolades either. In December of 2009 the course was rated as the #1 Best New Private Course in America by GOLF Magazine. The rating is a true testimonial to the special feeling Red Ledges offers golfers of all abilities.
The course includes many yardage and difficulty options for golfers to test their ability as well. Every hole has four sets of tees placed daily and many holes have alternate tee boxes that allow for great flexibility in the course set up. Yardages were carefully planned to ensure that golfers were required to use all the clubs in their bag to navigate the course.
The course is also home to an exceptional Practice Facility with acres of bent grass tee surfaces and target greens to provide the same feel as the course. The Practice Facility also includes large practice putting and chipping greens, allowing golfers the chance to sharpen their skills with access to top instruction from our own PGA Professionals. In addition to an exceptional place to practice, the site will be home to our very own Jim McLean Golf School.
