Jack Nicklaus with Pete Dye
Resort
open 1970
This resort, which was named to Golf Magazine’s 1998 list of “Silver Medal Resorts,” features two regulation 18-hole courses that were formerly part of the Hugh Hefner Playboy Club. The Highlands Course is one of the first Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus creations that feature Scottish influences throughout its design. There is heather-type rough and large bunkers protecting the borders of the fairways. A difficult hole is #11, a 594-yard, par5, which features a double dogleg fairway and a series of sand bunkers sitting in the fairway ready to snatch your tee shot.
