Your Nicklaus Design course or club is invited to field a team in the 2016 Jack Nicklaus Cup Matches. The 33rd playing of this popular annual event is being held at renowned Palmilla Golf Club in Los Cabos, Mexico, from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2, 2016.
Located in beautiful Los Cabos, Mexico, Palmilla Golf Club is famous for 27 holes of amazing golf and spectacular views. It has been recognized as the “Grande Dame of Los Cabos golf.” As the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Latin America, the masterfully conceived layout is stunning and challenging. It is a world-class masterpiece on a global stage and is the best of Cabo golf in Cabo San Lucas. Each of the three 9-hole loops at Palmilla feature spectacular views of the Sea of Cortez. Palmilla Golf Club also offers a clubhouse decorated in true Mexican flavor, an on-site golf shop, and an expert, friendly staff to help provide for your every golf need.
The Cup Matches will be contested over 54 holes. Each team will consist of four players, including three amateur members, with the golf professional as the playing team captain. Each amateur will be placed into a handicap bracket. The course will be set up with specific yardages for the following groups: professional and male amateur participants; female professionals; and female amateurs.
Last year, teams traveled from Russia and Canada to participate in the event, along with teams from eight U.S. states. Participating clubs were Barrington Golf Club (Ohio), Bayside Resort Golf Club (Delaware), Bear Lakes Country Club (Florida), The Club at Carlton Woods (Texas), The Club at Hokuli’a (Hawaii), Concession Golf Club (Florida), Desert Mountain (Arizona), Governors Club (North Carolina), Montreux Golf and Country Club (Nevada), Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate (Missouri), Nicklaus North (Canada), Richland Country Club (Tennessee), Skolkovo Golf Club (Russia), SouthShore Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas (Nevada), Spring Creek Ranch (Tennessee), and Tseleevo Golf & Polo Club (Russia).
