Terra Firma Development Corporation Ltd. is busy developing the Forest Lakes Country Club in West Hants.
Forest Lakes Country Club (FLCC), a rural Nova Scotia development featuring a Nicklaus Design golf course, has already attracted hundreds of international buyers, Chief Operating Officer Dave Kerr said.
“We’re really excited about the widespread interest in this project,” said Kerr. “Forest Lakes Country Club has attracted buyers from over 40 countries around the world, which shows how much global interest there is in Canada and Nova Scotia. Canada enjoys a stable economy and an excellent quality of life.”
The golf course will be the only Nicklaus Design layout in Atlantic Canada.
Forest Lakes, a four-season residential and recreational resort community approved by the Municipality of West Hants, will be built in phases. It will feature up to 2,700 residential lots, a family entertainment centre, a technology and innovation park and many other facilities and amenities. The 1,700-plus acre site is located 15 minutes from Bedford, between Highway 101 and Highway 1.
Terra Firma Development Corporation (TFDC), the developer, is currently building a visitors’ lodge and three model homes on site. More than five kilometers of trunk roads and ancillary roads have already been built. In addition, the Nicklaus Design golf course has been center-cut and equestrian fencing has been installed. This will be a green project designed to attract international buyers.
Kerr said TFDC is already making a significant contribution to the Nova Scotia economy.
“We have been working with more than a dozen well-known Nova Scotia firms as well as renowned award winning specialists in master planning, energy efficiency, engineering and development from around the world.”
TFDC is currently expending substantial marketing efforts through established partnerships with several successful international sales and marketing agents. TFDC is a Nova Scotia company comprising local and international professionals with an extensive portfolio of development and property management experience. TFDC has been acquiring land in Nova Scotia since 2007. The land has been rezoned for the resort and a fully ratified development agreement has been concluded.
