Ground has been broken on a home that is being built for the use of golf icon Jack Nicklaus and his family in Creighton Farms, Greater Washington, D.C.’s most extraordinary private community. Located in the North Villas section of the community’s Nicklaus Village neighborhood, the Nicklaus home will be located just steps from the Creighton Farms Clubhouse and its award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
“Creighton Farms is a special place,” Jack Nicklaus said. “It’s a beautiful property and Southworth has created a special blend of quality amenities, and a comfortable atmosphere for members and residents. I look forward to every opportunity I have to visit Creighton Farms, and enjoy the company of the other residents and members.”
The Nicklaus home at Creighton Farms will truly be a one-of-a-kind residence. The design process for the home began with a hand-drawn sketch by Jim Brown, President of renowned custom-home builders Creighton Enterprises. Traditional in design but fully up-to-date in terms of its lengthy features list, the 5,500-square-foot home will provide the Nicklaus family and their guests with four bedrooms, four and a half baths, an extra large kitchen and family room, raised ceilings and multiple porches for relaxed outdoor living. The unique angled entryway opens into a foyer, which is highlighted by one of the home’s most impressive details: a grand circular staircase.
The Nicklauses’ home will be located off the 9th green of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, annually rated as one of the country’s finest since it was named to Golf Digest’s prestigious list of the 10 Best New Private Golf Courses in 2008. The course was one of only two that year to sweep the “Best New Course” Awards in Golf Digest, Golfweek and Travel + Leisure Golf. The highly customized home will offer stunning views of both the golf course and the rolling hills of the Piedmont area.
