Creighton Farms Artist in Residence Tom Neel and Jack sign 35 limited-edition prints with proceeds benefitting pediatric programs at Inova Hospital in Alexandria, Va., and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
The Creighton Farms Invitational hosted by Jack Nicklaus raised more than $270,000 to benefit the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. The Foundation will distribute proceeds from the event to pediatric programs at Inova Hospital in Alexandria, Va., and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Participants enjoyed the memorable experience of dining with and then teeing it up alongside golf icon and Creighton Farms’ course designer Jack Nicklaus. The Golden Bear was joined by a number of celebrities, including former Washington Redskins running back and 1972 NFL MVP Larry Brown; Redskins’ Hall-of-Fame cornerback (1983-2002) Darrell Green; Redskins’ great Mark Moseley, the only placekicker to win NFL MVP honors; and NHL stars John Carlson and Marcus Johansson of the Washington Capitals.
The two-day event included a cocktail reception, live auction, and a dinner highlighted by a lively question-and-answer session between ESPN980 radio personality Steve Czaban and Nicklaus. Participants then had the opportunity to play on the award-winning golf course at Creighton Farms, located in the shadows of Washington, D.C., in the Northern Virginia community of Aldie.
