Awards for Promontory’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Course

The Promontory Painted Valley Golf Course, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course has been named the No. 1 golf course in Utah by Utah Business Magazine, the state’s only monthly published business magazine.

Rich Sonntag, Promontory’s managing director, was thrilled for the number one rating and said, “At Promontory, we pride ourselves on delivering the finest golf and amenities anywhere in the nation. We are delighted to be acknowledged as the No. 1-rated golf course.”

It has been a banner year for the Nicklaus-designed offerings in the Greater Park City market. The Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Red Ledges in nearby Heber was named Best Golf Course in Utah by Best of State Awards for a third consecutive year.

The Jack Nicklaus-designed Painted Valley golf course at Promontory has received many accolades from raters, players and Promontory members since it opened in 2007.  Measuring 8,098 yards from the championship tees to counter the Park City elevation, the course is considered a supreme test of golf.  It is enhanced by its unspoiled natural beauty, the breathtaking vistas make for an incredible day of golf and scenery.  Each hole has five sets of trees with a meandering creek that comes into play on eight of the front nine holes, while water hazards are on seven of the back-nine holes. The course is in an area known as the “Painted Valley” central moraine, located in the center of the Promontory property.
