What is the Mountain Course like?
The green goes on forever. It is an 18-hole, 7,212 yard, par 72 course. Opened in August of 2003, the course takes full advantage of its setting atop a 1,100-foot mountain, the breathtaking views and the spectacular natural setting.

Is the course too difficult for a beginner?
No, the beauty of the Mountain golf course at Bear Mountain Golf & Country Club is that golfers can choose their level of play. There are five different tees that allow a golfer to select the course length and the level of difficulty.

Golden tees 7,212 yards
Grizzly tees 6,744 yards
Black Tees 6,345 yards
Spirit tees 5,783 yards
Cinnamon tees 5,014 yards

Can I play at Bear Mountain Golf and Country Club if I don’t have a membership?
Yes, non-member tee times are available. Call the Pro Shop at (250) 744-Bear (2327) to book.

How much are green fees?
Summer season rates run from April 1 to October 18, 2009. Rates for bookings outside of seven days are $129 CAD Mon-Thurs and $149 CAD Fri-Sun. Winter season rates run until March 31, 2009 and then again from October 20, 2009 to March 31, 2010. Rates for bookings any day are $69 CAD. Twilight bookings, for games that start between five and six hours before dark, are priced at $79 CAD Mon-Thurs and $99 CAD Fri-Sun. Sunset bookings, for games that start between four and five hours before dark, are priced at $59 CAD Mon-Thurs and $79 CAD Fri-Sun.

What is included with green fees?
Green fees include cart with GPS, and pull-in bag drop at the welcome station where a member of the staff will take your clubs from your car and load them on to your cart. Bottled water is also included. Range balls are also included.

Do I have to use a cart or can I walk the course?
Carts are mandatory. The elevation changes that contribute to the beautiful views and level of play make the mountain course difficult to walk.

Is there a driving range?
Yes. The driving range has grass tees.

Are lessons available?
Yes. The Resort has CPGA qualified Golf Instructors offering a wide range of lessons and programs suited to all. For all information on the instruction programs offered at Bear Mountain Golf & Country Club, please visit www.bearmountain.ca or call the Golf Shop at (250)744-2327 and speak to a golf professional.

How long can I expect 18 holes to take?
Typical playing time is between four and one half to five hours.

What is the dress code?
A collared shirt and soft spikes are required. Jeans are not permitted on the course.

Are rental clubs available?
Yes, premium TaylorMade clubs are available for rent at $60 CAD. This package also includes 6 TaylorMade Burner golf balls.

What is the 19th hole?
The uniquely designed 19th hole is a unique “recreational betting hole”, a par three with spectacular 360 degree view. The score on this hole does not affect your overall score.
