Reunion Resort & Club Of Orlando Shatters Florida Real Estate Sales Record

Nearly 800 homesites and condominiums sold for more than $170 million in less than six hours

REUNION, Fla. — (April 29, 2004) – They came from around the world to select their piece of the Central Florida dream. And in less than six hours, 790 property owners purchased more than $170 million worth of land. In an unprecedented sales event, Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando shattered all previous sales marks for a single-day, single-location land sale. In fact, the sales total makes it one of the highest one-day totals in U.S. real estate history.

The community, which to date had generated more than $150 million in sales since its grand opening in late 2001, received more than 1,000 reservations from potential property owners around the world.

The Ginn Co. hosted more than 1,000 couples, families and individuals during the weekend event. Property was available on Reunion’s west side, which will feature a Jack Nicklaus signature course design and a variety of other resort amenities. More than 712 homesites were selected with prices ranging from $150,000 to $275,000. The community also sold 48 condominiums at Heritage Crossing and 30 resale properties.

“Even though we anticipated great demand for this event, our third sales launch at Reunion since late 2001, we couldn’t have imagined the overwhelming response to this world-class resort community,” said Bobby Ginn, president and CEO of The Ginn Company. “People traveled from around the world to participate in this event and the enthusiasm they brought was contagious.”

“This sales event has forever changed the real estate industry in Central Florida,” said Randy Lyon, chief executive of Ginn’s Central Florida region. “We have worked hard to build a community of which people from around the world can be proud. To date, we have invested more than $200 million in Reunion. This sales launch demonstrates that people are coming back to Central Florida in a big way. Not just to vacation here, but to stake their claim in a life for generations to come.”

Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando has been called “America’s new breed of family resort towns,” named for its creation of a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere of small town U.S.A., blended with recreation and entertainment to create an authentic family vacation experience unmatched by any other Central Florida destination resort.

The focal point of recreation at Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando will be golf, including two signature courses nearing completion, the 7,257-yard Independence course, designed by Tom Watson, his first course in Florida and Arnold Palmer’s 7,010-yard Legacy course.

The community will also include all the amenities of a luxury resort, such as shopping at Reunion Square, a world-class spa and fitness center, tennis courts, pools, lakes and horse stables. Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando will also feature more than 18 miles of walking, biking and riding trails.

When completed, Reunion Resort & Club of Orlando will be a mix of full-time residences, second homes, hotel rooms and vacation ownership units, with an estimated build-out value of more than $2 billion.
